Power to Country premiered in Your Planet: Climate & Environment Shorts at Sydney Film Festival, on Thursday 8 June 2023.

Shortlisted for the Sustainable Future Award, the jury highly commended Power to Country: “The short film Power to Country, directed by Josef Jakamarra Egger, was a beautifully shot, gently crafted and simply told film that left us all understanding the problem and the heartache that goes with it.”
